Ramblings for December 21st

Yesterday, I wrote a post venting about how I’m getting tired of the questions about the state of my relationship with Nate. In the past two weeks, I’ve been asked approximately 15 times “why aren’t you guys engaged yet?” To which I don’t feel an explanation is necessary; we just aren’t. However, I’m considering making up crazy stories just so my brain has something to do other than tell my eyes to commence rolling.

I was unsure whether I wanted to publish that particular post and when I looked for it in my files today, it seemed to have disappeared. The fact that I’m okay with this tells me it wasn’t a good post; I didn’t like the tone of it and I planned on deleting it rather than posting it today anyway.

Although I don’t have anything insightful for today, I would like to share a website that I stumbled upon yesterday called Makes Me Think. I spent entirely too much time yesterday wiping tears as I read their thought-provoking, sweet stories. Their sister site, Marc and Angel Hack Life, compiled some of the best stories from Makes Me Think into posts. I highly recommend 101 Short Stories that Will Leave You Smiling, Crying and Thinking and 60 Tiny Love Stories to Make You Smile.

Be warned, though. A tissue box must be nearby while you read.

Hopefully the writer’s block I’ve been experiencing this week will subside and I’ll have something more substantial and original to share soon.

Who doesn't love a thinking kitten?

I get questions like that all the time! My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over four years now, and that’s pretty much the only question I get. Now I’ve just started saying were saving for a wedding…sounds fiscally responsible but satisfies what they want to hear.
