Though this is a few days late, I have the final results of my September challenge.
Briefly, my focus was on Intuitive Eating and I did not weigh myself or count any calories during the month of September. I wanted to see what would happen if I relaxed on the “dieting” and did what felt right.
I weighed myself only on September 1st and September 30th. There was absolutely no change in my weight. I’m a little bummed that I didn’t see a loss because I felt better and my clothes fit the same, perhaps a little better, than they had on the 1st of the month. However, not seeing a gain is always a cause for celebration. It tells me that I know how to maintain the weight loss I’ve achieved so far. That’s a huge accomplishment.
Unfortunately, I didn’t really do much for exercise. I was very active, but they were with activities that my body is used to and they don’t get my heart rate up much, if at all.
I’m fairly happy with the results of September’s challenge. Now that my schedule is a little more open than it was in September, I’m going to do basically the same things, just adding more exercise in the mix.
October started well with two days of hiking right off the bat. I’m trying to decide what type of program I want to throw in for strength training, but I definitely plan on doing more hiking and running this month. I want to finish out 2011’s races strong. I have a 5k trail run in October, an 8k in November and a 5k in December. I’m toying with the idea of adding another race for October as well.
Hopefully October will prove to be as successful as September.
